This past week, severe flooding devastated communities across Oʻahu. Families were displaced, camps were washed out, and animals were left without food, shelter, or their owners. Our team didn’t wait — we loaded up and headed out.
The Response
Over the weekend, our volunteers hit the ground running. In partnership with incredible organizations across the island, we distributed food, leashes, collars, kennels, and other essential supplies to communities impacted by the flooding.
We covered a lot of ground, reaching animals and families at:
- Waikōmō
- Keaʻau
- Barbers Point
- Wailua
- Lāʻie
- Campbell Industrial Park
- Kalaeloa
- Kapolei
- White Plains
- Waiʻanae Boat Harbor
Community and Partnership
None of this was possible alone. The outpouring of support from our community and partner organizations was overwhelming:
- Hina’s Legacy Rescue Foundation donated 1,800 lbs of dog food
- Toe Beans contributed 200 lbs of food and supplies
- Fur Angel Foundation provided another 200 lbs of food
Beyond food, community members came together to donate leashes, collars, kennels, and anything else they could. The number of people who stepped up to help in a time of crisis was truly incredible.
The Work Continues
Our volunteers are not stopping. Distributions are ongoing, and we are continuing to reach communities that were hit hardest by the flooding. If you know of animals or families in need, reach out to us.
