March 2026 Outreach Recap: 47 Dogs Served on the Waiʻanae Coast

· Aloha Animal Outreach

This past Saturday, our volunteer team headed out to the Waiʻanae Coast for our monthly outreach visit. Rain or shine, we show up — and this month, the sun was on our side.

By the Numbers

  • 47 dogs received wellness checks
  • 120 lbs of dog food distributed
  • 32 dogs treated with flea and tick prevention
  • 4 dogs flagged for follow-up veterinary care

What We Saw

The community along Farrington Highway continues to grow, and so does the need. Many of the dogs we see each month are well-loved pets whose owners simply can’t afford veterinary care. That’s where we come in.

One highlight from this visit: a pitbull mix named Koa, who we’ve been monitoring for a skin condition since January. After two months of medicated baths provided by our team, his coat is finally growing back. His owner, James, told us, “You folks are the only ones who’ve ever helped us out here.”

How You Can Help

Every outreach costs approximately $800 in supplies alone — that’s food, flea prevention, vaccines, and basic medical supplies. Your donations make these visits possible.

  • $15 covers flea prevention for one dog for a month
  • $30 feeds a dog for an entire month
  • $50 covers a wellness exam and vaccines

Donate today to help us keep showing up.

Next Month

We’ll be back on the Waiʻanae Coast in April, and we’re also planning a special spay/neuter clinic in partnership with a local veterinary team. Stay tuned for details.
